Talent Pool — Terms of Use

Please read these terms carefully before using the platform. Effective date: 28 June 2026.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Heat Geek Talent Pool ("the Platform") at talentpool.heatgeek.com, operated by Heat Geek Ltd ("Heat Geek", "we", "us").

By registering on or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

These Terms apply to both workers who list themselves on the Platform ("Talent Pool Members") and to Heat Geek network installers who use the Platform to find workers ("Employers").

2. Eligibility

To register as a Talent Pool Member, you must:

  • Hold a current active Heat Geek Learn account, or have previously held one
  • Be legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom
  • Agree to these Terms and our Privacy Notice

To access the Platform as an Employer, you must be a current, verified member of the Heat Geek installer network.

3. The Platform — what it is and is not

The Platform is a directory and introduction service. It allows Talent Pool Members to make their professional details visible to Employers, and allows Employers to search for and make contact with potential workers.

Heat Geek is not a recruitment agency, employment agency, or staffing business. Specifically:

  • Heat Geek does not select, introduce, or recommend any individual worker to any Employer
  • Heat Geek does not vet, verify, or endorse any worker listed on the Platform
  • Heat Geek has no involvement in, and takes no responsibility for, any arrangement, agreement, or contract entered into between a Talent Pool Member and an Employer
  • Heat Geek is not a party to any employment contract, subcontractor agreement, or other arrangement between users

4. Day rates and payments

The Platform may facilitate the display of a Talent Pool Member's stated day rate as an indication of their expectations. Heat Geek has no involvement in the negotiation, agreement, or payment of any day rate or other fee between users.

Any financial arrangement — including the agreed rate, payment terms, and method of payment — is entirely a matter for the Talent Pool Member and Employer to negotiate and agree between themselves. Heat Geek accepts no liability for any dispute arising from such arrangements, including non-payment, underpayment, or disagreement over agreed terms.

Heat Geek does not process, hold, or transfer any payments between users.

5. Verification of qualifications and credentials

Heat Geek does not verify, validate, or confirm:

  • Any qualifications, certifications, or credentials stated in a user's profile
  • Whether a worker holds valid insurance, Gas Safe registration, MCS certification, or any other licence or accreditation
  • The accuracy, completeness, or currency of any information provided by a user

Employers are solely responsible for verifying the qualifications, legal status, insurance, and suitability of any worker before engaging them. Heat Geek accepts no liability for losses arising from a failure to carry out such checks.

Talent Pool Members are responsible for ensuring that all information they provide is accurate, current, and not misleading.

6. Affiliation with Heat Geek

Listing on the Talent Pool does not confer any affiliation with Heat Geek Ltd, and must not be represented as such. Specifically:

  • Talent Pool Members must not describe themselves as Heat Geek engineers, Heat Geek contractors, or Heat Geek representatives
  • Talent Pool Members must not use the Heat Geek name, logo, or branding in any marketing material, social media profile, vehicle livery, or other public-facing context in a way that implies endorsement or affiliation
  • Talent Pool Members must not state or imply that their work is carried out on behalf of Heat Geek or to Heat Geek's direction

A breach of this clause may result in immediate removal from the Platform.

The only exception is factual reference to completing Heat Geek training courses or holding a Heat Geek qualification — for example, stating "Completed Heat Geek Mastery training" — which is permitted.

7. Your responsibilities as a Talent Pool Member

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information in your profile
  • Keep your profile up to date — including availability, qualifications, and contact details
  • Conduct yourself professionally in all interactions with Employers through the Platform
  • Comply with all applicable laws when carrying out any work arising from Platform introductions
  • Maintain appropriate insurance and hold any required licences or registrations for the work you undertake

You must not:

  • Misrepresent your qualifications, experience, or suitability
  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Harass, mislead, or behave improperly toward other users
  • Attempt to circumvent the Platform's functionality or security

8. Your responsibilities as an Employer

You agree to:

  • Use the Platform only for legitimate purposes — finding workers for genuine heating installation or related work
  • Treat Talent Pool Members with professionalism and respect
  • Carry out appropriate due diligence before engaging any worker, including verification of qualifications, insurance, and right to work
  • Comply with all applicable employment, tax, and health and safety legislation

Employers must not use contact information obtained through the Platform for any purpose other than discussing work opportunities.

9. Ratings and feedback

Employers may submit a rating and written feedback about a Talent Pool Member after working with them. By submitting a rating, you agree that:

  • The rating reflects your genuine experience of working with that individual
  • The feedback is factually accurate and not misleading
  • The feedback does not contain defamatory, offensive, or discriminatory content

Ratings are personal data and are subject to our Privacy Notice. Talent Pool Members have the right to see all ratings submitted about them and to report ratings they consider inaccurate or unfair.

Heat Geek reserves the right to remove any rating that has been reported and that we consider, in our sole discretion, to be inaccurate, misleading, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate. Heat Geek is not obliged to remove any rating and does not guarantee the accuracy or fairness of ratings on the platform.

Heat Geek reserves the right to remove a Talent Pool Member from the platform where their ratings indicate, in our reasonable judgement, a consistent pattern of concerns about the quality or professionalism of their work. We will ordinarily notify the Member before taking this step and give them an opportunity to respond.

An Employer who submits a rating they know to be false or misleading may have their access to the Platform suspended or removed.

10. Platform access and account

We reserve the right to suspend or remove access to the Platform at any time, without notice, where we reasonably believe a user has breached these Terms, behaved inappropriately, or where continued access is otherwise not appropriate.

The Platform is provided free of charge to Talent Pool Members. Heat Geek reserves the right to introduce fees for access in the future; any such change will be communicated with reasonable notice.

11. Intellectual property

All content, branding, and functionality on the Platform is the property of Heat Geek Ltd or its licensors. You must not copy, reproduce, or use any part of the Platform without our permission.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Heat Geek provides the Platform on an "as is" basis and makes no warranties as to its availability, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose
  • Heat Geek accepts no liability for any loss arising from arrangements — including any financial arrangement — made between users of the Platform
  • Heat Geek accepts no liability for any loss arising from reliance on information in user profiles, including ratings and feedback
  • Heat Geek accepts no liability for any loss arising from a rating that is inaccurate, unfair, or submitted in bad faith
  • Heat Geek's total aggregate liability to any user shall not exceed £100

Nothing in these Terms limits Heat Geek's liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
